Our history albums and A Mountain Stars Quilt Guild Look Back At The Past are found on the About Us page link.
We love show and tell! Our members bring quilts, both old and new, to our meeting to display and tell bits of information about how they were made or for whom. Often we merely enjoy looking at others' work with awe. In either case, show and tell is one of the most popular portions of our guild meeting.
Our Show & Tell quilts are posted on Facebook.
Cascade Lily is a pattern designed by and used with permission from Polly Minick and Laurie Simpson. Polly and Laurie are sisters and named their pattern Coastal Lily but the Mountain Stars Quilters Guild renamed their quilt to make it fit our beautiful Cascade Mountain range. The quilt is a “Show Stopper” just like Mt. McLoughlin just south of Crater Lake. It is the tallest peak in the Cascade Mountains between Mt. Thielsen in the north and Mt. Shasta in the south.
Cascade Lily is 97” X 100” - Thank you to Cottage Quilts~Medford, OR for donating fabric .
The blocks were made by members of the Mountain Stars Quilters Guild. The quilt was made by Cathy Lang , machine quilted by Carol Dickson. The label by Susann Tresner. Quilt mother is Elizabeth Luebberke. Elizabeth will be selling tickets so you may have the opportunity to win this beautiful quilt! She would like guild members to step up to help sell tickets at guild and venues. This Opportunity Quilt is a fund raiser for our guild. . Elizabeth’s contact info is in our membership book.

DIAMOND LAKE FALL RETREAT 2017- Mark your calendar!!!
The Fall retreat at Diamond Lake is set for the weekend of September 22-23-24. As usual, the Fall retreat will offer participants time to work on their UFO’s, as well as offering a Mystery Quilt class, taught by me. This year’s quilt is an extremely simple and easy block to cut, sew and assemble, but which looks more complicated than it is. The coupon to register for the retreat is below and we encourage you to register early, if you plan on attending because the Fall retreat usually fills up more quickly than Spring’s.
Just to recap in case you are a newer member of MSQG, the registration fee you pay to Mt. Stars pays for the sewing room rental, a small subsidy for Saturday’s chair-massage therapist, as well as actual costs of providing the retreat. The surplus goes into the Guild’s general fund, allowing the Guild to subsidize some of the cost of providing world-class teachers each year. Back to retreat specifics, you then pay for your own housing – most participants share a cabin rental with others or get a motel or kitchenette for themselves. To make your reservations just call the toll free number for Diamond Lake Resort, 1-800-733-7593.
The retreat begins about noon on Friday and you are welcome to stay as late on Sunday as you wish. We usually begin packing up the Guild supplies about 1:00 that afternoon but you do not have to leave when we do! The sewing room is upstairs at the main lodge, overlooking the lake, and couldn’t be more beautiful. We work to provide a relaxing and fun environment for you. I hope you’ll consider joining us, especially if you haven’t attended one in the past.
