Mountain Stars Quilters Guild will be holding their biennial Quilt Show on Friday and
Saturday, June 29 and 30, 2018 from 9:30am to 4pm daily. The show will be held at the
Medford Armory, 1701 S. Pacific Highway in Medford Oregon. Admission is $5.
This year the theme, “Vive la différence!”, celebrates diversity in quilting. Over 200 quilts
will be on display, including a special Quilts of Valor display, guild challenge quilts and
special guild projects. Instead of one featured quilter, three quilters will be showing their
work. Linda Frisby will be sharing some of her Modern Art Quilts. Joedy Kimmel will
have a display of her traditional quilts. Art Quilts, created by teaching artist, Claudia Law,
will also be shown.
Vendors and the Pins and Needles Consignment Shop will be back and generous door
prizes will be given away hourly. Chances to win one or more themed raffle baskets will be
sold. Lunch, refreshments and snacks will be served at the Quilt Patch Café. A portion of
the proceeds with be donated to the Local Service Member and Family Assistance
The Southern Oregon Longarm Association will be giving a talk on both days at 1pm on
“How to Prepare Your Quilt for Your Longarm Quilter”, and the show will also feature
daily Bed Turnings at 11am and 2:30pm.
Tickets for the Mountain Stars Opportunity Quilt, “Vintage Garden”, will be available for
purchase. The winning tickets for the opportunity quilt and raffle baskets will be drawn on
Saturday afternoon just before the close of the show.
