DESCRIPTION:Carol Hattan\, a Judy Niemeyer certified instructor\, is teaching this wonderful 2-day class (cahattan@gmail.com\, 360-607-3473\, http://www.quiltworx.com/instructors/carol-hattan/) \nDate & Time: Friday and Saturday\, March 10-11\, 2022\, 9am to 4pm \nDescription:  Zen Garden was designed by Judy and Brad Niemeyer as a beginner pattern to introduce quilters to paper piecing and constructing an exploded star quilt layout. The project requires (24) diamond blocks. We chose the Shimmering Star Mixer Block for this design and added the Striped Pieced Mixer Border. We created the diamonds using a Quiltworx Strip Set\, which has (48) 2-1/2” x 42” strips that have been selected and sorted by Judy and Judel Niemeyer into (6) color groups with (8) fabrics ranging from light to dark. The quilt requires paper piecing and traditional piecing skills\, including curved piecing\, to complete. \nWhat You Will Learn in This Class:  Judy Niemeyer’s unique Organization\, Stacking and Cutting Techniques\, Floating Points\, Paper piecing templates and tutorial\, and stripe piecing. \nSupplies List: You can obtain a list of what you’ll need for the class by clicking here. \nKitting Sheet:  If you need help with fabric quantities\, the Kitting Sheet may help. You can get it by clicking here.  As you’ll see it is made with a Quiltworx Strip set which is presorted into 6 sets of color with 8 strips in each set.
