SUMMARY:General Membership Meeting - November 11\, 2023
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our General Membership Meeting on Saturday\, November 11th\, 9:30AM to 2:30PM. The meeting will be held at Live Oak Grange\, 120 Gardiner Street\, Rogue River\, OR. We welcome anyone with an interest in quilts in all their forms and at all skill levels. \n9:00 – Sign-In Table opens where you can: \n\nPick up your red ticket for the door prize drawings\nEnter the emoticon drawing by finding the emoticon in this month’s newsletter then writing your name and the emoticon symbol on the entry slip\nGet a ticket for each “Dots and/or Circles” fat quarter you turn in. Any color and any size dots/circles.\nGet a copy of the latest newsletter and pick up a copy of the meeting agenda\, minutes from the last meeting\, and Treasurer’s report.\nYou can also purchase a copy of the new 2023-2024 Member Directory for $2 each\n\nJust past the Sign-In Table is the Block Party display. Turn in your Paper Doll Dress appliqué blocks and/or your Pinwheel Flying Geese pieced blocks that were presented at the September Meeting.  Then pick up the patterns for the appliqué and pieced blocks being shown at this meeting.  And remember to check out the Education table at the front of the room where you can get information about upcoming classes and sign up to attend.  Across the room is the Quilts of Valor display where you can turn in blocks or quilts you made (just remember to put your name on each QOV item). You can also pick up a pattern for the next QOV block. \n9:30 – Early Bird Class. Sue Cunningham will be demonstrating appliqué techniques. \n11:00 – Lunch is served.  Lunch will be provided by the guild and will feature shredded BBQ pork sandwiches\, coleslaw\, and dessert (a vegetarian sandwich alternative will be available). As always\, regular and decaf coffee will be available plus hot water and tea bags for those who prefer that. \n12:00 – Business Meeting begins. It includes presentations from the Board and committee chairs plus drawings for door prizes\, emoticon\, fat quarters\, and Block Party. \n1:00 (approx.) – Speaker/Presentation. (To be announced later). \n2:00 (approx.) – Show and Tell. This will immediately follow the Speaker Presentation. Bring your latest creations to show to the group and remember to state your name when you come up on the stage so we can give you credit when we post the photos on the website. \nAt the conclusion of the meeting we ask that you help put away the tables and chairs. \nIf you aren’t already a member of our guild and you’re interested in joining\, we have information available at the Sign-In table.
