Born and raised on the West Coast\, Laurel is well known in the San Francisco Bay area as an accomplished appliqué quilt designer. \nExplore the world of appliqué techniques and find perfect methods for your creative life. In Laurel’s Survey of Applique Class\, you’ll try out the latest notions and products to make your applique faster and more accurate. Most of the methods are for machine applique but we will cover some hand sewing shortcuts as well. \nAt the end of the day\, you will learn how to handle all the most difficult shapes\, and know which methods are your favorites. Then the syllabus is your “go to-how to” book to reinforce what you learned in class and even techniques that weren’t covered. \nEach of our students will have a choice between two patterns. One pattern is a modern take on Pillow Talk. Here you can try each notion\, product\, or shortcut. \nThe second pattern choice is Egg\, Egg\, Chick. This whimsical pattern helps you to learn shortcuts to many aspects of appliqué and helps calm the fears of rounded areas and circles. \nPlease join us September 11\, 2020 for a Survey of appliqué. This is a one day class from 9-4pm. \nThere is a pattern fee in class which includes the normally $25 syllabus chocked full of appliqué goodness for $10. Laurel also has cut her pattern fee in half\, therefore the cost for both (syllabus and pattern) is a steal at $14 for Pillow Talk or $16 for Egg\, Egg\, Chick. \nFor member registration before August 1\, $45. Registration after August 2 will be $50 Class fee for non members is $65 Last day to register August 30\, 2020.
