The Mountain Stars Quilters Guild (MSQG) Machine Embroidery Group (MEG) is dedicated to the art of machine embroidery in all forms. MEG meets regularly, one Saturday per month (usually the 4th or 5th Saturday of the month) to share techniques and tips, practice new skills, and share accomplishments. MEG includes those new to machine embroidery as well as those more experienced and skilled.
What you can expect when you attend a MEG meeting?
- Meetings are held at a member’s home retreat center in Shady Cove right on the Rogue River from 9 AM – 4 PM.
- Project of the month instructions begin around 10 AM.
- Attendees may participate in the month’s project, bring their own project, or attend to share their expertise and questions without their machines.
- You can join the meeting for an hour or for the day.
- Meetings include instructions and support for the monthly project. It includes a supply list of the materials needed for the project (sent out before the meeting).
- Members supply their own embroidery machine, supplies, and materials based on their preferences for projects, but suggestions are provided.
- Everyone shares their knowledge and experience.
- Persons new to machine embroidery are given special help in learning the basics of machine embroidery through the monthly project. We will help take out the intimidation/fear of machine embroidery.
