Kathy Miners ~ Project Bags 2.0 Class
January 13, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Kathy’s interest in quilting began around 1998, when her local knitting shop closed and she needed a new hobby. Little did she know, a few years later she’d become the owner of that local quilt shop. She was fortunate to be the owner for 9 years before retiring and moving to Southern Oregon.
Her love of bag making started around 2008 and quickly became such an obsession that she became known as the Bag Lady. At her quilt shop she held monthly classes for a new bag, purse, or Tools of the Trade Bag.
She hopes that she can help you take away the intimidation of making something other than a quilt. This is a FUN project and you’ll be thrilled with the results! Each of you should walk away at the end of class with a finished or nearly finished bag.
This project will give you the confidence for a larger bag project. You’ll learn how to install a zipper and work with vinyl.
Wise words from Kathy, “These project bags are great for organizing everything you need for each of your projects. These handy zippered bags come in four sizes, have sturdy quilted bases, and a vinyl window for visibility of contents. Pattern includes instructions for two styles of border on the bottom and four different sizes of bags. They’re an excellent way to use up fat quarters and scraps from your stash. Need an add-on gift? Use fabric from that quilt you’re making for your newborn grandchild. Grandson’s birthday coming up? These make nice bags for pencils, pens, and other school items. Think outside the box and the creative opportunities are endless. I’ll also bring some mesh with me to class and give a quick demo on how to install that in a project bag as well.”
