Laura Owens – Playful Portraits

This class by Laura Owens is designed to take you to a different style and a new freedom in quilting. Laura hopes it will encourage fresh ideas and create opportunities for us to connect, inspire one another, and celebrate our quilting fun.
This is an Improv Class that will break all the rules you think you know about quilting. There is no wrong or right way, just different ways! There are many portrait artists out there that do a similar style and if you know them, that will only enhance your knowledge base for this class. If you don’t, you’ll still do a great job! Not one portrait will ever be the same! That is really what Laura loves about Playful Portraits. 
Please bring a photo of someone you would like to create. Laura and her sister created portraits of each other!
Class fee is $55.00 for MSQG Guild Members or $65.00 for non-members. The class fee includes your kit and the additional supply list is minimal (mainly scraps) – plus there is NO precutting homework! Please note that all class fees will increase by $10 if received AFTER Dec. 8th, 2026. Space is limited. Class will be held at the Live Oak Grange,120 Gardiner, Rogue River, OR, 97537

Laura has been quilting for 40 years. Her Long Arm business, Cotton Creek Quilting Co., keeps her busy and she loves it! She is also the 2026-2027 President of Mountain Stars Quilters Guild and is looking forward to getting to know all of you!
