General Membership Meeting – March 9, 2024

Join us for our General Membership Meeting on Saturday, March 9th, 9:30AM to 2:30PM. The meeting will be held at Live Oak Grange, 120 Gardiner Street, Rogue River, OR. We welcome anyone with an interest in quilts in all their forms and at all skill levels.

9:00 – Sign-In Table opens where you can:

• Pick up your red ticket for the door prize drawings
• Enter the emoticon drawing by finding the emoticon in this month’s newsletter then writing your name and the emoticon symbol on the entry slip
• Get a ticket for each “Paisley” fat quarter you turn in.
• Get a copy of the latest newsletter and pick up a copy of the meeting agenda, minutes from the last meeting, and Treasurer’s report.
• You can also purchase a copy of the new 2023-2024 Member Directory for $2 each

Just past the Sign-In Table is the Block Party display. Turn in your Lucky Elephant appliqué blocks and/or your Rosebud pieced blocks that were presented at the January 13, 2024 Meeting.  Then pick up the patterns for the appliqué and pieced blocks being shown at this meeting.  And remember to check out the Education table at the front of the room where you can get information about upcoming classes and sign up to attend.  Across the room is the Quilts of Valor display where you can turn in blocks or quilts you made (just remember to put your name on each QOV item). You can also pick up a pattern for the next QOV block.

9:30 – Early Bird Class. Ellen Eastman will be showing how to make a sleeve for your quilts. Sleeves are required on each quilt you intend to enter in the MSQG Quilt Show (June 14th & 15th).

11:00 – Lunch is served.  Lunch will be provided by the guild (menu to be announced later). As always, regular and decaf coffee will be available plus hot water and tea bags for those who prefer that.

12:00 – Business Meeting begins. It includes presentations from the Board and committee chairs plus drawings for door prizes, emoticon, fat quarters, and Block Party.

1:00 (approx.) – Speaker/Presentation. (To be announced later).

2:00 (approx.) – Show and Tell. This will immediately follow the Speaker Presentation. Bring your latest creations to show to the group and remember to state your name when you come up on the stage so we can give you credit when we post the photos on the website.

At the conclusion of the meeting we ask that you help put away the tables and chairs.
